Ich hatte das Privileg, über ein Jahr lang mit Hugo zusammenzuarbeiten, und es war ein echtes Abenteuer. Gemeinsam entwickelten wir bei TransferGo ein innovatives Freundschaftsempfehlungssystem, das seinen Vorgänger in puncto Komplexität, Flexibilität und Skalierbarkeit deutlich übertraf. Von den bescheidenen Anfängen bis zum heutigen reibungslosen Betrieb, der einen vielfältigen Kundenstamm weltweit bedient, war unsere Reise eine echte Transformation.
Hugo spielte in diesem Projekt eine entscheidende Rolle. Von Beginn an setzte er sich für die interne Systementwicklung ein und riet uns nach ausführlichen Gesprächen mit potenziellen Partnern davon ab, externe Lösungen zu suchen. Anschließend leitete er das Projekt von der Konzeption über die Implementierung bis hin zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung.
Während des gesamten Prozesses bewies Hugo außergewöhnlichen Charakter und Führungsqualitäten. Stets bereit, selbst mit anzupacken, begegnete er Herausforderungen mit Entschlossenheit und war stets bestrebt, Probleme zu lösen und seine Kollegen in diesem gemeinsamen Vorhaben zu unterstützen.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, anderthalb Jahre mit Hugo zusammenzuarbeiten. Er war der kompetenteste und qualifizierteste Mensch, dem ich je begegnet bin, und zeichnete sich stets durch hohe Professionalität und tadellose Organisation aus. Er war mein Teamleiter, und ich arbeitete hauptsächlich eng mit ihm an einem Projekt zusammen, das er für unser Unternehmen initiiert hatte. I can call myself a lucky person to had the opportunity to work with Hugo for the last year and a half, It was the person with more skills/capacities that I've met and he was highly professional and organized all the time. He was my team leader and I worked with most of the time alone with him in a project that he started for our company using all the best practices, starting with code quality and documentation, writing tests and coverage, to using design patterns and principles like SOLID/SOA/ACID, in a Domain-Driven Design architecture, he has a lot of knowledge. I knew almost nothing when I met him and he taught me with lots of patience almost everything I know today, and always made sure that I've understood what he was saying and it was really a pleasure to work with him.
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna miss that preoccupation about having always the best code possible that we can deliver. Without any doubt I'm pretty sure Hugo will be an invaluable asset to any company he works with.
